Santiago Property

Santiago is famous as the most African of all the islands. It is rich in culture which includes many festivals and local music – this and much more makes the island of Santiago a popular destination not only for leisure travellers but also for those who are looking to buy property. Santiago is also the largest island in the archipelago and the most densely populated. The magnificent and natural landscapes are witness to its ancient status as the first Cape Verde - island to be populated by humans back in 1462. With over 1.500 metres (approximately 5000 feet), Pico d'Antonia is the highest peak of the island. The beaches that can be found here are as beautiful and sandy as the ones on the neighbouring islands but slightly smaller. Nevertheless, the landscapes and the sceneries are breathtaking, full of colourful and lush flora and picturesque and traditional villages. Praia is the capital and offers a bustling nightlife and excellent entertainment facilities.

Tarrafal is a stunningly and picturesque town and belongs to one of the most well known attractions on the island. Due to its natural surroundings and its beautiful location (on a hill with exclusive views of a valley which opens out into palm-lined beaches and blue waters) it is one of the points of interest that should not be missed during a stay on the island of Santiago.

Cidade Velha is another see worthy highlight. The former port for the trading of slaves and goods between the European empires can be found approximately 16 km from Praia, where an old fortress stands which is overlooking narrow, cobbled streets. It gives the city a nostalgic flair and is an ideal starting point to visit the old Cathedral and St Filipe Fortress.

Praia is also the place where the first university in Cape Verde was established. At the museum of marine archaeology you will be able to see old treasures and many other things that were recovered from various wrecks that sunk around the islands of Cape Verde.

One thing that you should definitely do is to rent a car or a jeep and make a trip across the mountain ranges of Vila do Tarrafal. You may stop at Assomada during your trip to visit the traditional African market that can be found there. On your way back you can enjoy spectacular views of the coast and the ocean.

Sambala Sambala

Sambala Village is a beautiful development which will be situated on Santiago Island – in the Cape Verde. An undiscovered tropical beach and mountain gem will surround your new home. The island can be found on the same latitude as Barbados and is just a short one hour flight beyond the Canaries.

Vila Jardin Vila Jardin

The Vila Jardin development consists of 40 detached two and three bedroom villas. All of the villas have beautifull views of the ocean along with their own pool and garden. All of this located within landscaped gardens, with amenities such as Bar, Club house and Tennis courts.
